National Student Fees and Support Systems in European Higher Education 2022/2023
Student fees and financial support measures are important instruments to support access to and progress in higher education. In European countries they vary significantly depending on the national policy approaches and criteria.
This biennial publication uses data provided by the 37 Eurydice network member countries through their Eurydice National Units. It is based on official documents issued and/or recognised by top-level authorities. Data were collected in the period June – September 2022.
Comparative analysis
The comparative analysis covers 39 education systems: the 27 EU Member States (Belgium is represented by respectively the French Community, Flemish Community and German-speaking Community), together with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Türkiye.
It presents student fees and financial support policies by outlining specific features per study cycle and for student category, type and status.

The national information covers 37 participating countries, represented in 39 information pages (Belgium is covered in three pages respectively for the French Community, Flemish Community and German-speaking Community).
