Education Reforms in Liechtenstein
In March 2021, the pilot of the new ‘Liechtenstein Education Report’ and ‚Education Strategy 2025plus‘ were published.
The Liechtenstein Education Report is to be published every four years, parallel to Switzerland, starting in 2022. The pilot Report has been published in March 2021. The pilot study highlights the current strengths of the education system and potential improvements regarding the envisaged goals. The study for this report was carried out in close cooperation with the School Office and in regular exchange with the Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education, which produces the Swiss education report. The pilot report contains a collection of existing data, reports and documents and a detailed presentation of Liechtenstein's education system and its framework conditions.
The Education Strategy 2025plus was developed in 2019 under the leadership of the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the School Office, the Office for Vocational Education and Training and various education-related institutions. It serves as an orientation framework for the further development of the education system in Liechtenstein. The strategy defines the vision, mission and understanding of the education system in Liechtenstein and contains eight key objectives for their realisation. Its vision is to enable all people in Liechtenstein the opportunity to develop their individual potential within the education system to actively participate in a democratic society.
