Montenegro: a Law on Academic Integrity soon to be adopted

08 February 2019
Country news

Montenegro stands out as the first country in the Balkan region to regulate academic integrity by a specific law, which has been recently drafted by the Ministry of Education.

This drafted Law aims at preventing plagiarism and raising awareness on all forms of violation of academic integrity, as well as at promoting academic and democratic values in higher education. In order to directly deal with these issues, an Ethics Committee will be created.

After being approved by the Government, the draft Law has been referred to the Parliament where the adoption procedures are currently undergoing.
