Organisation of Post-Secondary Non-Tertiary Education

The main types of schools offering vocational and technical upper secondary education are comprehensive schools, which offer academic education comparable to that of the grammar schools, and vocational education as industrial vocational schools, which offer theoretical and practical branches of study in the certified and some non-certified trades.  A few of the comprehensive schools and some of the industrial schools also offer post-secondary non-tertiary programmes, such as programmes to educate master craftsmen.

The schools may not teach all branches of trade or vocations as they tend to specialize in various vocations or certified trades, such as electrical engineering,  travel and  tourism and vocations within the health sector.

A private organisation offers post-secondary non-tertiary programmes to those who have not fulfilled their studies which give admittance into University and vocational and professional training within the field of technology and aviation.

The education of master craftsmen in certified trades, is carried out in cooperation with the industry and trade unions which supervise the practical branches of study.
