Certain programmes, while conforming to the same general rules, differ from the usual length of bachelor or master’s degrees.
Whereas virtually all short-type higher education programmes total 180 ECTS, the midwifery course, and the training of bachelor in charge of general care, represent 240 ECTS. This duration is explained by the obligation to comply with the programs of study and of clinical education set out in the Directive 2005/36 /EC.
In the second cycle, the degrees for Doctors and Veterinarians consist of 180 ECTS at least, but in all other respects are the same as master’s degrees.
