National education psychologists

Decree No. 2017-120 of 1 February 2017 creates the corps of national education psychologists into which are integrated school teachers who used to perform the functions of school psychologist as well as guidance counsellors-psychologists in secondary education and directors of information and guidance centres. The new corps of educational psychologists consists of two specialties:

  • Psychologists of the speciality "education, development and learning" work in kindergartens and elementary schools;
  • The psychologists of the speciality "education, development and school and career guidance" perform their duties in the information and guidance centres where they are assigned as well as in the secondary schools of the sector of the information and guidance centre.
