Global and Intercultural Dimension in Curriculum Development

Given that adult education is run locally (by companies and/or regions), it is hard here to list the international dimension of learning programs since this dimension depends a great deal on interregional academic conventions implemented between academies and regions/States. We can, nonetheless, mention that activities for opening up to Europe are being implemented by bodies responsible for ongoing adult education, in particular the Gretas, as part of the European Leonardo and Grundvigt programmes.

Recognition of foreign qualifications in France

The ENIC-NARIC France Centre gives information on the acknowledgement of foreign diplomas in France and awards a certificate of acknowledgement of the level of education obtained in the country of origin. As the ENIC-NARIC France Centre is part of the ENIC-NARIC European network, it participates in this capacity in the setting up of European recognition tools in order to facilitate people’s mobility. This centre was named as the contact point in France for the implementation of Directive 2005/36/CE on the recognition of professional qualifications in Europe.

Partnerships and Networks

The French ongoing education bodies, in particular the Gretas, actively participate in the partnership programmes implemented by the Executive Agency for Education, Culture and Audiovisuals, in particular the "multilateral projects" and the Grundtvig networks.
