A small number of private kindergartens in Cyprus follow different pedagogical principles, such as the Montessori educational approach, or systems of other countries, such as the education system of England, the United States or Russia.

In addition, some of the private kindergartens offer education either bilingually or in a language other than Greek.

There are three kindergartens owned by the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, which differ in the emphasis they give to religious education and in relation to other specific aspects of the philosophy that governs them.
