European, global and intercultural dimension in curriculum development

Comenius sectoral programme is the most popular opportunity for enriching the education environments, namely intercultural and foreign language training and teaching, through transfer of knowledge and good practice from colleagues abroad.

The majority of education institutions in Bulgaria focus on exploiting the opportunities for curriculum development through exchange of staff. However, in recent years a tendency is being observed for engaging in long term partnerships for development of lasting education products that can be used nation wide.

Partnerships and Networks

Apart from Comenius traditional multilateral partneships, the other main element of Comenius, utilised by rising number of Bulgarian teachers is the eTwinning portal. Currently more than 1560 Bulgarian schools are registered into the eTwinning and have 441 running projects in most subject areas of school education.
