The Slovak Republic is a sovereign, democratic and legal State that is not bound to any ideology or religion.
It was constituted on 1st January 1993 by the split of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.The state power in the Slovak Republic comes from the citizens that execute it through their elected representatives. The public administration is provided by both the state administration and territorial self-governance.
The official language in the Slovak Republic is Slovak. A special law makes it possible for national minorities to use their native tongue in official communication under the conditions set in advance.
