Higher education institutions may organise short cycle programmes consisting of modules corresponding to no more than 120 credits (law 4009/2011).

These programmes lead to a certificate of short cycle training, as defined in the organisational charter of the institution.

The certificate is not equivalent to a first cycle studies degree.
