Pupil and Student Mobility
Nordplus Junior
Nordplus Junior is a part of the Nordic Council of Ministers mobility and network programme Nordplus that focuses on education. The Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as the autonomous areas the Faroe Island, Greenland and Aland, and the Baltic countries Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia participate in the programme.
The program’s target group is pupils, students, teachers and other educational staff in pre-school, primary and secondary education, general upper secondary education and vocational education.
The main purpose of the programme is to encourage cooperation and network between schools in the participating countries. This is done to strengthen the quality, creativity and renewal of the pre-schools, the primary and secondary education, the general upper secondary education and vocational education.
The programme supports two kinds of activities relating to pupil and student mobility:
- Preparatory visits. This gives the schools an opportunity to meet and prepare an application for a joint project
- Student exchange. The exchange can take form as a class exchange or as an individual exchange for students who attend general upper secondary education or vocational education
The Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education administrate the programme.

The PIU-scheme

The work placement can take place in all parts of the world.
The PIU scheme is financed by the self-governing institution called the Employers’ Reimbursement Fund. The purpose of this institution is to create work placement for the students. The Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education promotes the scheme to students, employers and schools as well as coordinates the use of the scheme.
