Higher education institutions offer different types of services to support the students professionally as well as personally. These services include the Student Counselling Service, the Student Ambassador, Career Advisory Service and library service.
There are no statutory requirements regarding education for the persons occupying these positions. However, they often do hold a university degree in a relevant field such as psychology, law or social sciences. In these cases, the staff have the same conditions of service as other academic staff employed in the state.

Examples of other education staff or staff working in higher education
The Student Counselling Service
The Student Counselling Service offers personal support to all students such as individual and group consultations. Furthermore, the Student Counselling Service contributes with skill development of the counselling staff at the educational institutions. They also have activities for students such as workshops about healthy study habits, stress and welfare.
The Student Ambassador
The Student Ambassador provides impartial legal advice to students. The ambassador can inform students on their rights and obligations concerning among others, complaints, dispensations, illness, exam attempts etc.
Career Advisory Service

Some education institutions have a career advisory service. The career advisory service can offer personal career counselling and facilitate corporation between students and companies in connection with the Master’s thesis. Furthermore, the career advisory service for instance arranges seminars, company visits, career fairs etc.
Research Library Services

Research libraries is a service at the education institutions. The tasks of the research libraries are to support students in literature search, learning relevant reference tools etc. Research librarians are employed at the research library service and are specialised within a subject area such as history, law, medical science etc. In most cases, research librarians hold a relevant Master’s degree.
