Lifelong learning has been a cross-cutting issue, addressed by different laws and strategies developed by Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (MESY), Ministry of Finance and Economy. However, a real National Strategy for Life Long Learning is not yet in place in Albania.

The “National Strategy on Employment and Skills 2014-2020” has a special focus on expanding Adult Learning opportunities to rural areas. National Agency for Vocational Education, Training and Qualifications was appointed as the National Support Service for the European Platform of Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE). The European Commission awarded a grant to promote this platform (EPALE) in Albania.^[1]
