Most of the people working at the employment office, in medium-sized companies and in agricultural education and training come from the professional world. They are selected on the basis of their experience and practical pedagogical competence.
Each Institute for Further Education has a certain amount of capital per hour, which is made available to it for the organisation of its courses each school year. The overwhelming majority of the trainers come from the teaching staff of secondary education and are employed part-time. In the case of special, very subject-specific courses (such as in the ICT field), however, more people from the respective professional milieu are also recruited.
The Institutes for Continuing Education in Schools were previously independent institutions with their own head teachers. Since 2007-08 they have been structurally integrated into the secondary schools in which they are housed. Teachers with an incomplete timetable can, if necessary, supplement it in the secondary school.
