Notes:
- The legal entity approach was used for data collection, i.e. one educational institution corresponds to a legal, administrative or organizational entity or unit, which may operate on a single institution site or cluster several institution sites.
- G, V: Some secondary schools provide both general and vocational education whereas some of them provide only general education or only vocational education.
- Based on the method of data collection in the Czech Republic, integrated schools, i.e. schools that have one directorate but offer more than one level of education (e.g. integrated nursery and primary schools / integrated primary and secondary schools, etc.) are counted as more than one educational institution.
- The government-dependent private schools include denominational schools (i.e. those established by a registered church or denominational association). There are no private independent institutions in the Czech Republic (ISCED 0–3).

- All schools listed above are schools established under section 16 paragraph 9 of the Education Act. This paragraph stipulates that independent schools (or classes/ departments/ groups) may be established for pupils with visual, hearing, physical, mental disabilities/impairment, autism, speech defects or multiple disabilities. These are schools without any regular class.
